Measure first, then train
A candidate is assessed before a plan is made. Training that is not built on a real starting number is guesswork, and it wastes the months a candidate cannot get back.
About the academy
Para Commando Physical Academy Palampur prepares candidates for Army and paramilitary recruitment, police recruitment, and central and state government examinations — the physical side and the written side together.
The academy is a training centre for the Army and for the paramilitary forces — BSF, Navy, Air Force, SSB, CRPF, CISF and Police — and a coaching facility for Agniveer examinations and for central and state government examinations.
That combination is deliberate. A candidate preparing for a recruitment rally needs a measured running time and a written mark, and both have to arrive at the same time. Running the two under one academy is what keeps them in step.
Four things the academy holds to, and which candidates and parents are entitled to hold it to.
A candidate is assessed before a plan is made. Training that is not built on a real starting number is guesswork, and it wastes the months a candidate cannot get back.
Physical preparation and written preparation run together. Leaving the paper to the end is the most common reason a physically ready candidate still does not get selected.
Turning up every day at a fixed time, supervised, does more than occasional hard sessions. The routine is the training.
A candidate is told honestly where they stand against the standard. No guarantees are given about selection, because no academy can honestly give one.
Physical training is taken by the academy's coaching staff, which includes a Para Commando coach. Written subjects are taken by experienced teachers.
Names, service background, qualifications, specialisation and years of experience will be published here once the academy has supplied and confirmed them. Nothing about the coaching staff has been invented to fill the space in the meantime.
The academy is on Bus Stand Road, near Chandi Mata Mandir in Berachah, Palampur. Being close to the bus stand matters more than it sounds: it is what makes daily attendance workable for candidates coming in from around the district.
Candidates travel in from Palampur town and the surrounding areas of Kangra, including Baijnath, Bir and the Dharamshala side. For those coming from further away, a hostel facility is available.
